Permanent roofline lighting kits

The short answer

Permanent roofline lighting is an LED system mounted in aluminum track along a roofline and left up year-round, controlled from a phone app instead of hung and taken down each season. IronPeak kits run on 24V DC with RGBW lights, WiFi and Bluetooth app control, and a 5-year product warranty. Kits start at $1,299 for 100 ft.

Common questions

Questions buyers ask about permanent roofline lighting

How long does permanent roofline lighting last?

IronPeak's LED strands are sealed in UV-stabilized polyurethane, rated for a 5–8 year outdoor service life. Warranty: the LED strands, aluminum track and Apex peaks are covered against product defects for 5 years from purchase. The control box (controller and power supply) is covered for 5 years mounted inside an enclosed garage or building, or 2 years mounted outdoors, including under an eave, porch or carport. (Normal weather wear-and-tear, lightning and power surges aren't covered.)

Can you see permanent lights during the day?

The track stays up year-round, so it is visible, but it is powder-coated aluminum in matte black, white, oyster white or brown to match your trim, which keeps it low-key during the day. IronPeak's hat channel can also hide the light wire along the soffit or fascia.

Does permanent roofline lighting work with a phone app?

IronPeak's does. The control box connects over WiFi and Bluetooth to a free app with scheduling, timers and scene presets. Its four zones run independently, so the front, sides and second story can show different colors or animations.

What should you look for when buying permanent roofline lighting?

Check what the warranty covers, how the system handles roof peaks, whether strands arrive factory-terminated so nothing is spliced on the roof, whether the power supply is certified, and whether the track matches your trim. IronPeak's answers: a 5-year product warranty, pre-built pitch-matched TrueCenter Apex Track peaks, factory-terminated connectors, a UL-certified power supply and four track colors.

Is permanent roofline lighting worth it?

Compare it with seasonal hanging: professional installs and take-downs run roughly $300–$1,200 every year, while a permanent system stays up and works every night of the year, with a 5–8 year outdoor service life for IronPeak's strands. Our cost-per-foot guide walks through the math.

Can homeowners buy IronPeak kits?

Yes. IronPeak is built for professional installers first, and homeowners can buy any kit and install it themselves or have a local installer do it.
